Learning about sexual and reproductive health is an important human right, yet for many people with disability, they may not have had the same access to sexuality information as people without disability.
This program covers many topics including healthy relationships, consent and safe sex. The workshops are accessible, person centered and evidence based and aim to achieve the following outcomes[1]:
- Increased skills to enhance community participation – Education can support people to develop their social skills to make healthy relationship decisions.
- Improved knowledge and self-esteem – Evidence suggests that knowledge about sexuality can be empowering, promote decision making abilities and build self-esteem
- Improved decision making and self-protection skills – Evidence suggests that education about sexuality and sexual health are vital to reduce an individual’s vulnerability to sexual abuse and/or assault.
Sessions run for 1 hour (45mins face to face and 15mins prep time) and are charged at the following rates:
- Individual – $150 per hour
- Couple – $75 per hour per person
- Small Group – $50 per person (minimum 3 and maximum 4 participants)
All handouts are included in the above rates and we are happy to meet with the participants prior to the course for 30mins – no charge – so that they get to know me, to see if the program meets their needs and to ask any questions. Any travel to deliver workshops will also need to be negotiated and a quote will be provided. Workshops can also be modified to meet the needs of the group or individual.
